Emma Watson hasn't acted in nearly five years, but she hasn't retired: “I think I felt a bit caged. The thing I found really hard was that I had to go out and sell something that I really didn’t have very much control over." https://t.co/OU35DU2YDU

Maybe she took some acting classes in those 5 years?

But, but...she went to Brown and some other pretigious drama crap....she doesn't need lessons. lol

Or they really need to give her money back.

I'm cool with her never acting again.

Haha! Though, to be fair to Brown, she studied English Literature there, not acting.

Yes, I know but it seems like her kind..."don't you know where I went to school? who my dad is? who I am? I'm SPECIAL!"

Didn't she taking acting classes while there? I know she went somewhere and it sure as fuck didn't help her acting.

I think she thought she was going to be some Alist award winning actress and nope. She tried so hard getting certain films or they pumper her ego too high during HP. I watched one with her and Tom Hanks and JFC it was painful.

Emma is only Emmoine. She is not believable in anything else.

idt anything happened during filming. she was singled out as a miscast by the press and how emma stone was the perfect choice and it got to her, which is why she dropped out of the press tour. her comments here seem to be aligning with that.

Emma stone was the perfect choice? for Meg?
And I don't think Emma was bad? She wasn't a stand out for sure, but she wasn't bad. She was just serviceable (same as Eliza). Laura Dern was the one who was bad imo.
Flo and Saoirse were the only ones who shined.

"Emma stone was the perfect choice? for Meg?"

that's what the critical consensus was at the time and that emma w's poor performance only highlighted that.

tbh i don't mind emma either. obviously not the greatest character actress. i think the problem is that she got too ambitious. she's just doesn't have the right range for the roles she went for. she just needs to dial it down and play to her strengths. i think she has decent comedic timing and could be great in rom coms etc.

"but she hasn't retired"

... sounds like a threat to me.

Girl. You’ve been acting since a kid. I applaud it tbh. If you can afford to then take that damn time off. 🤷🏾‍♂️
