OR he wore shorts because longer pants are uncomfortable. When my brother had some extensive surgery fabric rubbing on the healing tissue would itch and in some cases become raw, even months later. Same when I had a C section. It was a long time before I didn't "feel" my clothes, even after the incisions healed.
