Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Lacey Chabert, and Amanda Seyfried of the original Mean Girls have shown interest in returning for a sequel, but it may not happen. A source close to production claims negotiations with the four actresses has stalled due to "disrespectful" money offer.

That said, it's still a hugely bankable property and it's straight up misogyny that they lowballed the still very well known actresses for this. I'm glad they walked away. Just do a reunion skit/photo sesh with a Q&A, this isn't a movie that needs a follow up.

Something short form would definitely serve them well - just enough for nostalgia but not so much we remember what was wrong with the original movie/Tina Fey's writing. Maybe for like a charity event or something? If they're going to make money though they need to pay their actresses what they're worth.

Yeah the bts for the show is a hot mess. I want to support SMG with her new show but it's still got Jeff Davis who is a pos for his treatment of women and poc. Keahu tweeted that he wasn't even told he was silently fired. He just found out when the promos came out and he didn't have a part, the funniest part of that is that his last line was a huge cliffhanger so...?
