I do, and when I was at Target the other day this guy loudly said to his girlfriend 'I can't believe people still wear masks!' which made me feel really self-conscious lol. I've had Covid twice now, and despite having the vaccine it was still really unpleasant so I dunno when I'll feel comfortable not wearing it.
i still mask. i don’t wear a mask in my office because i’m usually alone, but when my colleague is there we mask, distance, and have the window open. i won’t wear one outside if it’s not crowded but lbr i always have one on me
I'm still bitter I got it from my org's COVID SAFETY COORDINATOR. Who insisted she just had allergies. I still have a stupid cough / shortness of breath and it's been 5 months.
I called her while she was on COVID leave and said, "I think I might have COVID, it feels like someone is sitting on my chest," and this was while I was at work the next day after she announced she had COVID, and she told me, "It's just in your imagination, you're being paranoid." And because she gave me incorrect info, I came back from COVID leave and then got sent back on COVID leave again for another week because she forgot to mention I had to fill out a form announcing I had COVID so they had to count my day 5 as day 0 again. I was pissed.
It kinda freaks me out how people are just so accepting of this as if it’s a common cold. I know everyone is exhausted (or never cared in the first place), so rarely will anyone post about Covid like they in 2020/2021. But, you can still have long term effects from it. Sure, there seems to be a lesser chance of that happening if you’re up to date on boosters, but it’s still not foolproof.
Ugh. I wish my anxiety about this would go away because no one else seems to care anymore and I’m just stuck in 2020.
The long term effects are enough to scare me out of ever being okay with getting it. One of the earliest things I saw about after effects was a BBC doco about a TV doctor having heart problems after getting Covid. And I know the anti-vax goons keep crowing about vaccinations being the cause of the seeming (I don’t know if the stats actually are higher than usual) rise in heart attacks in middle-aged and younger people, but pretty much all of those people have HAD Covid, and we know it can cause heart problems, so it makes more sense that’s what’s responsible.
I actually looked up as many scientific articles as I could after Lisa Marie Presley’s death since they looooooove to blame the vaxx for that. And there are literally no studies that show an increase in heart related issues after the vaccine. If anything, it’s shown that Covid has caused more issues (esp on the unvaccinated). It drives me crazy to see this nonsense.
