I'm still bitter I got it from my org's COVID SAFETY COORDINATOR. Who insisted she just had allergies. I still have a stupid cough / shortness of breath and it's been 5 months.
I called her while she was on COVID leave and said, "I think I might have COVID, it feels like someone is sitting on my chest," and this was while I was at work the next day after she announced she had COVID, and she told me, "It's just in your imagination, you're being paranoid." And because she gave me incorrect info, I came back from COVID leave and then got sent back on COVID leave again for another week because she forgot to mention I had to fill out a form announcing I had COVID so they had to count my day 5 as day 0 again. I was pissed.
my boss was making really dangerous and stupid decisions when we had to return to work in 2021 and i flat out told them that when i get covid, it would be their fault and they were so offended.
my workplace lifted the mask requirement, my boss had no qualms getting up in people's space, i still wore my mask, i ended up getting it from a coworker and half our office got taken out by it in 2 days.
“It’s just allergies” The number of times my students have said this and then emailed me the NEXT DAY “I’m gonna be out a few days, I tested positive for COVID this morning”
I feel bad because in September I was sniffly for a couple of days, tested negative twice and so genuinely did think it was allergies and told my officemate as much. Then I got a cough the third day, tested, and whoops, it was Covid. Luckily I was wearing a mask just in case (don’t normally at work) and she didn’t catch it. I still feel guilty about it though.
At least you still wore a mask since you had symptoms! These kids are sneezing and hacking all period with no mask. Or they test positive for COVID and still come to school sick & maskless.

I know of a care home where they had been clear through most of lockdown and got it from a safety inspector. I would have been fuming.
