interesting. idk, i think that using the subway system to convey nyc is not that inventive of an idea. but gil's is a lot better and i think they would've made it look more like that if they could, which makes me think they were aware of it and trying to make it look as different as possible.

but having the pathway in the shape of the ghost mask kinda is. they knew what they were doing, and it's pretty shitty.

That's not my point? What makes the idea stand out is not that the subway system was used, is that they managed to do it picking an iconic reference to the franchise. it's irrelevant that using the subway system isn't inventive when the idea as a whole was very well executed.

MTE - it’s made even more obvious with the fact that giant movie corporations tend to churn out the same genre-specific aesthetics for their promotional material, so this use of colour for this one stands out as an anomaly.

It could’ve actually been a fan competition or fun fact, that the design of the poster was created by a Scream fan.
