I feel like this Scream 6 person was apart of Operation Varsity Blues and just carried that lesson forward throughout life.

Yeaaaah def stolen. This is all too common

When I was interviewing for a design job at a major publishing house, they had me design comps for a re-print of a well-loved book. I didn't get the job but months later I saw the book jacket in the wild, and it was my exact design, down to the stock images I sourced and the fonts I chose.

That is depressingly common, which is why I side eye companies who want interviewers to do comps as part of the interview process. If you can't judge my work from my portfolio I don't need to be working for your ass.

YUP! This ALSO happened to me at a media company that asked me for an edit test. They used every single one of my ideas and even my headlines. There was a beauty editor at Refinery29 who was pretty notorious for taking edit test pitches.
