Late ass baby fever or just selfish? There’s more to life than creating spawn who you may only get to spend a 15 ish good years with until they’re essentially caring for YOU. 😬
Edit: my numbers may be a bit off bc from the post I thought she tried til she was 51. Maybe she stopped trying earlier and just now got around to telling the story.

And yet there are some of us who had parents who were young when they had us, and still only spent 15-ish good years with them. All the judging of women (or men) who choose to have babies later in life is ott. My mom died at 48 years old. You never know when you're going to leave this planet, whether you have kids young or old.

edit - and i would have chosen to "essentially care for" my mom if that's what it took for her to be alive. that wouldn't have been the burden on me (and a lot of people who have lost parents, i'm sure) that you're presenting it as

It’s not that bizarre when you learn adoption is trauma tbh. An adopted child is not a cure for infertility. The adoption industry is a multibillion dollar industry. How can it have the child’s best interests at heart?

Karpoozy, wildheartcollective, and karlos Dillard are good places to start

Oh I just mean with her age. Having a newborn to care for at 52. And like will you be around by the time they graduate highschool? I'm guessing the husband is older as well.

That must've been rough.

Honestly I recently found out these two were even together and still wrapping my head around the fact that she married Mush from Newsies. But that's besides the point, happy they're happy and enjoying their time with Walker!

Oh fuck, I saw someone mention Newsies and thought he was in the stage play. Mush was cute.

What is wrong with adopting, someone please tell me? I know there are mental health issues that could possibly be a factor, but so can your bio children.

Side note, her child looks like an identical light skin version of Taye. Jesus.

I was shocked to find out how many here seem to be anti-adoption. It doesn’t make sense imo. Where would we be without adoption? It may not be a perfect system, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t necessary or often a wonderful thing.

no one thinks that adoption should never happen. but the idea that adoption is some wonderful thing is just wrong. adoption is inherently traumatic. we know that. private adoptions are especially bad. there is a reason that studies show that open adoptions are the best for the children. because even tho we want to say its not, biology does matter to most people.

the very large majority of babies are placed for private adoptions because of money. we could create a social safety net so that mothers could parent their own children.

and how many kids are adopted through foster care that got there through a really terrible system that was not in their or the bio parents best interest? a lot!
