sourceafter the porn ban back in 2018 almost killed the platform tumblr now says that nudity, mature subject matters, and sexual themes are ok to post again. not explicit porn tho. so yay for boobs

Yay! Now I'd like Tumblr to change the likes to bookmarks. There's too many people using it like Twitter, and using likes rather than reblogs. It's making it more difficult to find good/trending content quickly.

That's probably because most young people these days are using Tumblr just for the app and aren't even on the website. There's a glitch where photos look like text posts on desktop if you directly post on the app, and I can always tell who's under 25 when that happens, lol.

The Great Tumblr Implosion was truly the first time I discovered most people were using it for porn rather than incredibly niche and embarrassing fandoms.

When the tumblr porn ban first happened, they removed a picture of me in bed (fully clothed) under the covers with a cardboard cut-out of NPH (look, it was a weird time in my life, okay?) and said it contained sexual content.

i used tumblr while i was in the free! fandom and just a few weeks ago, i realized i had a hell lot of posts flagged as nsfw because they contained screencaps from the anime. i think i spent over half an hour going through all of them and writing "it is a screencap from an anime, they are swimming in a pool." to get them unflagged.
