Basically, Rooster Teeth is an online production company that has had success with webseries like Red Vs Blue and RWBY and has branched out into different sections like gaming Let's Play's with Achievement Hunter and Funhaus along with Podcasts (Face Jam, Ship Hits the Fan, Red Web, etc).

There's been a few updates since I wrote this. Geoff wrote his statement (he was one of the founding fathers of the company and was the boss of AH for a long time) and Kdin responded to it on twitter. If I need to change something in the post, let me know. I wrote this when I was really tired so idk if it all makes sense.

With all due respect I asked you in 2020 after Mica called you all out to address everything the company and those in power did to everyone.

People used to ask me why I didn’t pursue a career covering media in traditionally “nerdy” spaces. This is why. Most of the big companies in that area are boys’ clubs and working in that environment would kill any love I had for games, TV, movies, and the like.

I’ve never been into anything Rooster Teeth-related so I don’t know anything about the people involved, but good on those who spoke up despite the abuse that will inevitably be hurled at them. I hope the company suffers for how they treated Kdin. The medical billing part of their story is particularly horrifying.

I feel like this might finally end RT, and as someone who at one point loved their content, that is long overdue.

Honestly since the Ryan thing I've been just waiting for the final nail to hit the coffin and I feel like this is gonna be it, or at least the beginning of it.

I gotta say that the nickname thing makes me sick to my stomach because I remember in the early days fans falling Kdin by that "nickname" as well. It feels beyond evil to trick your fans into unknowingly calling someone a slur.

[TW: Sexual assault] In 2020 it came out that Ryan has used his position to have sex with multiple fans. It seemed like had specifically targeted fans who struggled with mental illness or with their sexuality and/or gender indentity, and he often gave them money to come to him or to make them dependent on him. Multiple women mentioned that he had removed condoms during sex without their consent. There is evidence that he had sex with underaged fans as well. That's the very short version of it.

I was never into them but I watched a few of their Let’s Plays years ago and I remember being quickly turned off by the frat bro personality coming from all of them, especially by the Gavin dude (he was the worst one, and the worst at video games) so I stopped watching them. I’m glad I noticed the red flags early.
