Basically, Rooster Teeth is an online production company that has had success with webseries like Red Vs Blue and RWBY and has branched out into different sections like gaming Let's Play's with Achievement Hunter and Funhaus along with Podcasts (Face Jam, Ship Hits the Fan, Red Web, etc).

I never really paid attention to their content, but I quickly became very fond of Mica because of her time on Critical Role and hearing that she had very unpleasant experiences with Rooster Teeth definitely made me think poorly of them. Obviously, this just gives more reason to think that. It's not surprising, but it is unfortunate.

I was big into RT a long time ago back when I also had shitty edgy humour, so I'm really not shocked about any of this. I know Kdin responded to Michael's apology and it seems like they have been cool with each other for a while. Michael's definitely grown a lot as a person since he started out, and clearly feels like shit about how he used to be. Gavin has clearly had growth as well (I know Mica has acknowledged that he's put the work in to be a better person), but I don't think he actually used the words 'I apologize' in his statement at all.

RT has always been managed like shit, so I'm not surprised at all that management and HR never did anything about this. I remember when the glassdoor reviews from the animation department came out and they were absolutely scathing. What an absolute shitshow.

At least it seems like FunHaus (or at least current FunHaus) is decent; I hope they're able to go independent and get out from the gross shadow of RT.

IA about Funhaus. I'd love for them to do what Kinda Funny did/is doing or even team up with them because I feel like they're all good eggs. I used to think a lot of AH/RT was hilarious but I stopped watching years and years ago because I was getting bad vibes from behind-the-scenes rumblings and as more and more stuff comes out I am just not even surprised anymore. Also their content really started to suck lol.

AH was my everything when i was a teenager but yk one day i just didn't get "it" anymore. If you look at the background it was aleays there - the boys club, the bleeping of "words that would get us cancelled", women never lasting too long. I hope this is the final nail in the coffin cause it was a loooong time coming

This has been insane.
I am so happy it's all coming out. My partner and I have been noticing shit for years now but they hid it all so well with their NDAs and legal threats that we thought we were insane but no.

They are a vile company I used to be such a fan and tried sticking around after all the horrible shit in 2020 to support a couple of people left that I could stand to look at.

Gus recently said this bullshit nothing of an apology and I just couldn't help myself. SO MANY of their former staff and contractor employees have come forward with the abuse they've faced, the overtime they weren't paid

Gus's "apology" has me SO ANGRY. This 'I've always valued our friendship' bullshit is insane. Gus is literally a founder of the company and Kdin was an employee. Even if she was his friend, he should have been thinking about her as an EMPLOYEE first.

The founders, and upper management, can all fuck off. Burnie's never going to see any repurcissions from this, despite clearly contributing to the culture. Honestly, he and Geoff had so much direct influence over young Gavin as well, and I don't think either of them have ever owned up to the fact that they had a hand in him (and so much of their community) turning into such an ass.

Also!!! Geoff's likes have gotten a little wild.
He liked something that stated they were bullied into apologizing and that they'd done nothing wrong because of the times or whatever then when called out for it with screenshots he liked that tweet and others telling him he deserved to be bankrupted.

oooooh this is interesting to me. honestly just from following some of them on social media still gavin seems to have really removed himself from things. he gives major asshole vibes.
