Britney Spears Memoir Finished However Pushed Back Due to Paper Shortage

Jul 30, 2022 06:06

Earlier this year Britney Spears signed a deal with Simon & Schuster for a tell-all / memoir worth an estimated $15 million. However due to a paper shortage we might have to wait a little longer to read her story.

Britney Spears is said to be finished writing her memoir, but you may not get to read it that fast. https://t.co/JggfF0Vk5g

This is only barely related but when I worked retail I was so fuckin depressed by how much marketing materials we were sent but never used, like huge posters and signage and decorative pieces that only went up for a week or not at all, and then we would just destroy it all.

And we were one store in a district, in a state, in a region, in a country, etc etc.

So basically if there’s a paper shortage you can start by just eradicating the print marketing for Bath and Body Works in a single location in Denver, CO and I bet that alone would be able to cover Britney’s memoir lol

same! worst are the intricate displays that are not recyclable and just get tossed in the dumpster! It especially sucks because I would love to have some Ulta makeup displays to hold makeup, or posters as decor etc.

I think they’re banking on Britney fans wanting a physical copy. I wonder if they’re planning on an autographed presale too. People do want to know her side of the story but I see this also being like owning the vinyl/cd versus just streaming the album.

They are definitely banking on physical copies. Those already sell more than ebooks. They'd also be losing out on a LOT of library sales because libraries might buy 10+ physical copies of a new book (depending on library or branch size) but only 1 or 2 of an ebook.

I one hundred percent forgot about libraries. I see my city getting 35+ copies. I feel like that’s the most I’ve seen available of a book.

Damn no wonder I’ve been asked to do online applications instead of doing paper applications irl. Nobody believes me that lol. Like…. okay. At least I’m able to get my resume and cover letters printed to turn in. Idek what is the point of this if we are actually experiencing paper shortages. Even they don’t consider resumes as a matter of fact beyond applications because thanks to the system we have now. S H R U G S

Not sure what kind of jobs you're applying for, but I’d even hold off on printing your resume unless you have a physically in person interview. But even then, they’re supposed to be prepared for the interview as well. They should have a copy of your resume from your original application.

Damn this is too depressing lol. I gave away too many resumes. No wonder some employers irl walked away without coming back to me when I sat at the table and had everything ready. Took a bit while until the employee approached me and had to let me know they’re taking them in the back room, and will let me know when they’ll contact me. I don’t know if that was some mind game or whatever. They looked at me weird bc I wore a double masks. Sigh

I feel like nobody gives two fucks about online applications with resumes and cover letters attached to it…..

I can only speak from my experiences but I’ve conducted interviews myself and I have always had the resume in front of me to reference. Granted, when I first graduated from college and was going on my first interviews, I’d bring my resume. It does leave a good impression but it isn’t necessary.
I was interviewing for a month or so. The best advice I got was to make your answers more task/knowledge base. I’m an accountant so I have to show how my knowledge is transferable to who I was interviewing with.

Check out this website. It REALLY helped me when I was first interviewing. I started getting second and third round interviews immediately once I switched tactics. You got this, bb!
