Britney Spears Memoir Finished However Pushed Back Due to Paper Shortage

Jul 30, 2022 06:06

Earlier this year Britney Spears signed a deal with Simon & Schuster for a tell-all / memoir worth an estimated $15 million. However due to a paper shortage we might have to wait a little longer to read her story.

Britney Spears is said to be finished writing her memoir, but you may not get to read it that fast. https://t.co/JggfF0Vk5g

Release it to Kindle then and delay the printed copies. I'll buy both!

There's been SO many supply issues with books since covid started, so I'm not surprised they're having issues with this one which is likely going to be a huge release.

So release the e-book version first.

I thought more people did digital than paper, huh, guess not.

At work, I had been advocating to go paperless for years and years. I would have to print out every single document (which was on our servers accessible to anyone who needed), which could be hundreds of pages, single sided no less. I would file that document away in a cabinet, where it would sit untouched until I had to file away more documents. Then after it’s retention period was over, I would pull it for the shredder/incinerator. With the pandemic and paper shortage, I was finally able to convince management to let me go paperless. I went from six huge filing cabinets to two, and a file now consists of a small handful of official/legal documents that we legally have keep.

My old job was so stupid. We had original documentation storage and copy documentation. Most of our job was retrieving copies of documents already on the intranet but printed and stored in a lever arch

I think there are just so many people who still don’t trust electronic storage. I trust electronic storage more than paper storage.

People do do digital and paper releases are becoming a dying thing and money suck for publishing companies and bookstores/stores. But there are quite a lot of people who demand a physical book. I'm not sure why the companies still cave to them.

ONTD, has a paper shortage ever came in the way your highly anticipated memoir?

Nope but it was stated as a big factor why we could not have a mandatory Covid vaccination in my country...from officials at least, the paper industry said 'The fuck are you talking about, we can definitely provide enough for this'.
