mcdonald's paper straws are top tier, i'm also a fast drinker so i'm not THAT bothered by them, but milkshakes with paper straws are the worst.

at home i use glass straws and I like them better than plastic ones actually

His 22 year old girlfriends encourage him not to use his plane so much. Y'know, for his future 22 year old girlfriend's future!

It would be an interesting study to see which of harmful practices these fuckers engage in we’re the most harmful to the environment and how. I also wonder how easy it would be for someone like Leo to keep this shit under wraps since he’s a ~climate crusader~.

I was reading that these are only of the celebs who are being tracked by some website? Because people were saying Bieber should be on the list too but the site doesn't track him

this is just the monstrous use we KNOW of

not trying to be a pj apologist but would be interested in seeing how this stacks up to emmissions from large companies for instance....not that a 7.3mi flight isnt gross but im just wondering if individual celebs are really what we should be focusing on

I get what you mean, but a post about companies' CO2 emissions wouldn't be approved. Major events always have to be connected to celebrities to get a post here.

i mean im not criticizing the post? just questioning the concept of the original article?

I misinterpreted your initial comment. Sorry for coming across as confrontational

Stuff like this is why the individual choices of normal people are never going to be enough to tackle the climate crisis; it has to be government action/regulation.

Ugh this is the shit that depresses me so much. Like I feel so insanely guilty when I use a plastic ziploc bag or some saran wrap and try to minimize it as much as possible to avoid the guilt, and then I tell myself "felixfin, you can save as much saran wrap your whole life and one celebrity in a day will offset that".
I constantly flip flop over how much personal guilt I need to carry about the environment.

i will never have kids so i keep telling myself I'm sure the planet will last 60 more years and then I'm not that bothered by it. (I try to not use plastics and I'm a vegetarian so I'm doing something)

cutting/stopping meat intake is honestly one of the biggest things we CAN do as end consumers that would make an actual difference.
But 60 years? I got some bad news for you on that front :(

But do you really think, apart from being a vegetarian, me, a 32-year old lower middle class woman, is going to make a difference?
Even if I started an ecological rampage on my own, I'll never be able to save the planet. It needs to come from higher up, but all the politicians and companies are only thinking about one thing, money. They don't care about the planet.

I'll see in 60 years how bad the world is, considering how things are going now, it'll be like the 1950s but with bad oxygen and empty oceans.
