Going through a miscarriage is one of the most painful/ lonely thing I’ve ever experienced. Physically and emotionally. That being said women that are in the workforce are forced to “step out of the house” Women with kids also step out of the house. Idk why but that quote rub me the wrong way

And often workforce workers are forced to continue on days later. Using time off, often unpaid, without a chance to heal. Especially if given a D&C.

Yeah, it rubbed me the wrong way too. Just because people work office jobs, doesn't mean they have the luxury of taking off whenever they want to. Some can't afford to be off and some aren't allowed to anyways. I know people who had the time to take off but were denied by their managers. This made it sound like it's harder for celebs who miscarry vs regular working people which is a lie.

do normies in sweden get time off from work when they miscarry? think this is a kind of tonedeaf comment from alicia. plenty of working class people have to continue clocking in while experiencing medical trauma. at least in the US.

she's living in portugal and you do get full paid time off if you miscarry + more time with medical support if you have depression afterwards

I'm not Swedish but I think their system is similar to ours in Finland so yes, normal, average people do get time off and plenty of support offered to them.

"Sometimes you go through things that are tough in life and if you have an office job you can step away for a bit.

That sounds dumb as hell. Most people in regular jobs do not have that privilege and most celebrities can just skip the red carpet or whatever if they want to.

right and in her case, she’s famous enough to have the clout to say no … i doubt any studio will force her to walk the carpet or interview if she told them her reasons.

Right? Even if she got fired she’s still rich and privileged.

My sympathies to anyone who has experienced a miscarriage. One of my oldest friends and my niece have experienced multiple and it's so heartbreaking to witness.

My friend was fortunate to eventually have her two kids, but my niece has not been as lucky, even after trying IVF. It hurts to see her not be able to have something she wants so badly, especially when all of her friends have kids too.

She's speaking from a European perspective, which I think is pretty spot on, at least in some countries like the Nordics where she's from and Portugal where she's currently living afaik.
