do normies in sweden get time off from work when they miscarry? think this is a kind of tonedeaf comment from alicia. plenty of working class people have to continue clocking in while experiencing medical trauma. at least in the US.

she's living in portugal and you do get full paid time off if you miscarry + more time with medical support if you have depression afterwards

I'm not Swedish but I think their system is similar to ours in Finland so yes, normal, average people do get time off and plenty of support offered to them.

I think we (the United States) are the only fuckers who force people to work even when they're experiencing medical traumas.

Last week I literally gave my boss a doctor’s note writing me out of work and he asked me if I really couldn’t work and could I at least work a few hours. It’s so fucked up here.

I’m trying to move back out west to a more liberal state because they at least take that shit seriously.

That makes me angry. He had no right to try and guilt you into working.

Ugh that’s crazy that no one would take your case and that they wanted $600 just for a consult!

Sadly in Canada it's more similar to the States than Europe, especially lately

I'm in Canada. I took stress leave in February/March and it was a hassle to get it from a doctor. My work was luckily supportive of me, butttt they also play favourites clearly because I know of people who took stress leave whose annual reviews were affected by this or were not supported at all. So it's a toss up between your doctor and work.
