IDK, I'm not sure why that's a valid critique of the book. Three Women was marketed as a look inside the sex lives of three modern American women, but Taddeo never claimed that this was a representative sample.

Are any of these women happy?
I'm hoping so because this sounds like no fun to watch. I mean in terms of complexity of characters and situation. Going strictly by the synopsis above, it seems very "het women be suffering".

Yeah, at first I was like yay when it said "...Sloane - a privileged Northeasterner who sleeps with men (and women) other than her husband" but then it finished with "for her husband", so it's likely unrequieted het love or sth...

Tbh I’m not sure I’m a fan of the blind casting in this one.

I read the book when it came out and remember being shocked that each of the women followed was white. So I get what they were trying to do here.

BUT! That character was the least sympathetic of all of them so it really feels like such a choice to but a Black woman in that role.
