i feel like i'm in the minority with actually enjoying season 6. to be fair though i haven't rewatched it since my first viewing which was over 10 years ago and at the time i was in the midst of a big depression episode myself so it was very relatable lol

Well it did have naked Spike and despite Marsters and Spike both being terrible, he WAS blindingly hot.

I liked Season 6 too, it was darker but made sense that it would be (to me).

I’ve seen a lot of people defend season 6 actually, seasons 4 and 7 seem to be the most unpopular seasons I’ve noticed, whereas season 6 is one that’s more either very loved or very hated. Some people are big fans of it though, whereas it’s 4 and (especially) 7 that seem to get the most meh responses from everyone

I feel like my rankings are wrong somehow, because seasons 3 and 4 have some of my favorite episodes, and Season 6 has the moments that made me drop the show (I didn’t watch most of 7 when it aired)… but it is what it is:

Season 4 escapes the bottom largely because of Hush and Buffy’s character growth in general. I like the concept but the execution isn’t there. And season 2 only edged out 3 because of the Angel plotline - he worked best as an accidental antagonist. (I agree that he was way more tolerable on his own show, but mostly because of his supporting cast.)

I take it very personally that they brought her back from the dead. It still makes me mad thinking about it.

I haven’t rewatched the show in over a decade now, and part of that is because I realized that Xander and Willow were not good to Buffy in general. It’s not as much fun when you start actively disliking all of the humans who aren’t a Summers, Kendra, Cordy, or Faith

I love when shows aren't afraid to get into how the people you root for are still shitty in their own right. There's a right way to do it of course
