-The season 5 finale of BTVS which is titled 'The Gift' turns the big 21 today!
-This finale is remembered for several different reasons:
- It officially killed off the title character
- It was the shows big 100th episode
- It was the last episode to air on TheWB
- TheWB would promote it as THE SERIES FINAL of BTVS due the series jumping ship to UPN for S6 and TheWB being petty
- It served as a potential series finale if plans w/UPN fell through
- The opening features clips from every.single.episode of the series leading up to the finale
- It was Anthony Steward Heads final episode as a series regular
- Anya was originally meant to die but Emma Caulfied wasnt having it
- Buffy in her S1 finale is afraid of dying but by 5x22 she willingly sacrifices herself for the world
