I remember when The Cosby Show first aired and how HUGE it was right out of the gate. It was the cornerstone which turned NBC Thursdays into must-see TV and propelled so many shows to success (Family Ties, Different World, Cheers etc ( ... )

I’ve only watched the first episode so far, but it’s really worth a watch. Bell makes a point to show the way he positively changed Hollywood and civil rights, and show him outright admit to drugging women/wanting to drug women in his stand up. I’ll have to watch the rest later this week, it’s heavy, and I don’t think I could binge it in one night.

Definitely going to watch this. It's so disgusting the way people (okay, men) are STILL defending him even though he's straight-up admitted it, and 'joked' about it/made coy references to his actions for decades. It's really twisted to go back and look at a lot of elements of his career/comedy/comments/everything through the lens of what he was also doing at the time; it was all so calculated.

At some point making excuses for him stops being about what he did for the culture and just becomes straight-up misogyny. You know he did it and you don't care, just say that!
