The season finale was on the 24th of December, so the whole season is now available on Prime Video for those wanting to either re-watch or binge it.

I just binged this in the last few days - I've never read the books, but I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would! It was a really cool fantasy show tbh. I thought the ending seemed a bit anticlimactic though...

Also, maybe they could've used an episode or two more to expand certain elements a bit, idk?

I know there's 14 books so I do worry the show will go on forever lmao

The showrunner hopes to do 8 seasons. He also wanted to do two more episodes but Amazon said no.

They filmed the last two epsiodes after a long break due to covid and the actor for Mat didn't return for unknown reason. It seems like they couldn't do what they'd originally planned to do for the finale so that's probably why it's a bit lackluster.

Yeah, I'm cutting them some slack for the finale cause they really had a clusterfuck on their hands. All things considered they did a good job given the circumstances.

I was wondering why that character just disappeared. And makes sense why they didn't get a couple more eps. They really need it after ep 4.

It gets MUCH better after ep 1. The finale was kinda lackluster, but I think it suffered from the fact they started season 2 before finishing 1, so it's not a big climax instead it sets up season 2

I think the show is great! The book readers who are mega pissed about the finale and the show in general are kinda pissing me off at this point. If the show were a 1:1 remake of the book, people watching the show without knowing the books would probably tune out because it would basically be a LoTR clone? Also the ending to EotW had so much shit in it that doesn't jive with the rest of the books because Robert Jordan hadn't nailed down the magic system/world yet? Ugh. The show isn't perfect, I def have problems with the Laila thing, but jfc I had no idea there were so many neckbeards in this fandom

It's... a lot. The main stuff that people complain about are Rand not being the main character from the beginning, skipping 2 cities, scaling down Thom Merrilin, having Rand and Egwene bone, having Lan and nynaeve bone, nynaeve possibly being as strong as Logain, not outright explaining that the one power is gendered, implying the Dragon Reborn could be a woman, having racial diversity in the Two Rivers, literally the entire ending. There's loads more, the only change that I personally have a problem with is creating a wife for Perrin just to have him kill her in ep 1.
