I was about to say the same thing. I think they're both really not all that, overrated, and suck, so he's probably right? This just white mediocrity. Honestly, it's all about hype, popularity, and sales. The talent isn't there. The music industry is just a popularity contest. It feels like high school, since a lot of music these days is just catered to the youngins (e.g., selling collector's items and using songs for challenges on social media to increase plays and sales). Taylor's song-writing captures young audiences for a reason. With Adele, she caters to people across the lifespan. Boggles my mind their around the same age. Call me biased, but Mariah Carey's songwriting always gets slept on.
