I love the Princess Diaries and still want to live in Genovia!

My dad’s secret guilty pleasure movie is The Princess Diaries...2 lmao. I watched the movies so much as a child in the house that my dad still knows the Genovian National Anthem to this day lol

Umm the Genovian National Anthem fucking slaps.

Genovia, the land I call my home.

That highnote near the end

genOOOOOOOOOOOOOviaa

*chef's kiss*

Being able to belt out your national anthem like a pro should be part of the eligibility criteria for real world Prime Ministers, tbh. That guy was great. Also I love that he always had Mia's back. Truly an example real-world politicians should strive for.

I can't believe I watched this in the cinema 20 years ago. It still holds up tbh, I still know all of Principal Gupta's lines. I do think Anne was great at Mia, I can't imagine anyone else playing her.

Also sparked my teenage YA fiction obsession after I found out it was based on a book by Meg Cabot, lol i still have all her books somewhere at my parents house.

Cinematic masterpiece of our time

With the premiere of The Princess Diaries taking place 20 years ago, let’s talk about the greatest scene in all of cinematic history, courtesy of Sandra Oh: pic.twitter.com/PxQDxHO8fq

THAT WAS SANDRA OH??😱😱 I haven’t watched the movie in 20 years and I did not know her before Grey’s anatomy, I never made the connection that she was the principal of the school!

Jesus g*ddamn christ Sandra Oh could act her way thru any RomCom, TV Drama, Animated Amazon Feature, etc., win every award under the sun, and it still wouldn't be enough to recognize her star quality.

Omg also when Lily says in that classroom scene when the popular girls tease Mia about her new shiny hair when she removes her hat, for the longest time as a child I thought she said “Hair, Bald Hair. I would like to learn about Bald Hair” and I was like wtf this makes no sense and thought she meant being bald was a fine option too like telling the girls to stop harassing Mia for her hair choices and it wasn’t until I got to university when we studied Voltaire I was like OHHHH she was saying “Hair, VOLTAIRE.”

lol that before and after reveal... she really doesn't look much better, but it's because she's so gorgeous (also the makeup is dated now)
