What's your favorite comedy of the 21st century?

The Death of Stalin without a doubt

actually In Bruges as well

though I will confess to laughing hysterically in the cinema at both Borat and Team America idk

The Death of Stalin did not work for me at ALL, idk why. It kind of bums me out, because I like the cast, I like dry humor, and so many other people loved it, but I don't think I laughed once.

Oh that's a shame! tbf I definitely didn't laugh out loud as much as I did watching some other stupider films (or as much as I have watching Iannucci's other stuff) but I just thought it was brilliant writing, and the performances were spot on; I've rewatched it so many times and just find it perfect from beginning to end

I'm dead inside, but Palm Springs made actually feel sth that for once wasn't anxiety and/or fear inducing so kudos 🙂

The two that come to mind right away for me are “Spy” and “The Nice Guys.” Neither made this list so IMO this list is pretty shit lol

Spy is fantastic. I remember I watched it on a plane and later thought 'Waaait, wasn't there a dick pick scene in cinema?' But it makes sense they'd cut that out for a plane. I haven't trusted any non-PG movie on planes since then.

Spy is sooo good, it's ridiculously funny. I have to watch it whenever it's on TV. Jason Statham is hilarious lmao

Sideways is hella overrated and the only good thing about it is Sandra Oh.
