No Dune for special effects?

It’s too early to tell but I like musicals a lot more than black and white Hollywood talking about Hollywood movies. Not at all excited about WSS though.

I usually only list those that’ll be considered for the big awards not blockbusters for tech stuff. Otherwise i’m adding all the marvel stuff here etc

I doubt Spielberg cared much about this, but the original had a whooooooole bunch of white people wearing literal brownface to play Puerto Ricans. They even made Rita Moreno wear dark makeup.

I mean it's sort of the nature of musicals that they get re-done with new casts. The original is fine, but it's very unpleasant for me to watch it when half the Sharks are played by white people in brownface. I do wish a Latino person was directing it instead of Spileberg, but I'm honestly stoked to get a new version with updated orchestrations, choreography, and casting.
