It's too bad Glenn and Amy are giving legendary hamful performances for something adapted from one of the worst books I've ever read.

That book was such a trip. Like he lays out the whole groundwork for how a lack of social programs and government assistance doomed generations of people and then ends it on, "Anyway pull up your bootstraps and maybe join the army! Nothing's free in life!"

Sir, what.

But he's not a fucking hillbilly he's from Ohio and spends half the book talking shitabout poor Appalachians like they're idiots. This book was conservative bullshit.

It’s such a Thing for Ohioans to play up the yeehaw/country boy bullshit. I have met so many people who act like they grew up working a farm or something & then I find out later they lived in some suburban mcmansion or like, smack in the middle of Cleveland.

I live in Columbus, and the hilarious part about this is the area where the Whole Foods is that it used to be farm ages ago LOL

i feel like she landed this after her role in sharp objects.

something about all of this seems off, like they're not gritty enough, no accents, it just doesn't look convincing

it's waaaay too polished. this is the kind of material that only an indie movie can really pull off (like Winter's Bone).
