it's waaaay too polished. this is the kind of material that only an indie movie can really pull off (like Winter's Bone).

I mean, that's one of the biggest criticisms off the book. They weren't really that poor, they were just lower middle class people with drug problems who blamed everyone else for their issues and were also incredibly self-righteous.
