Stylists and fashion houses have an ugly death grip on each other which makes things super boring. Events, definitely like the met gala or the Oscars should make sure that 30% of designers used should be indie or some such. Don't act like you're groundbreaking, be groundbreaking.

I feel like Oscar fashion was more varied and interesting when I was a kid. Take Cher for example. Her outfits could NEVER happen today because everything has become too much of a business where the outfit comes first, an individuals's personality comes second. I even hate how so many people that show up for the Oscars wear the EXACT same colour. It's boring.

Geena Davis used to knock it out of the park for me as a kid. I was mesmerized by her (there's a blue dress she wore that reminded me of Cinderella). Looking back, some of it was tragic (by today's standards) but again, it suited her and was unique.

I was just saying to my friend that early 2000s fashion was just so trashy and raggamuffinish. Like looking back, all the stuff these celebs were wearing could have easily been purchased at Marshall’s. No shade to Marshall’s though.
