This is so fucking sickening. And them focusing on Adele's reaction was just so calculated and disgusting.

Burn the whole thing down.

As she exited the building she was also captured sarcastically applauding while shouting "Long live pedophilia. Bravo pedophilia."

I could not stan any goddamn harder. (Unless she was dating me. That would help svp.) As Twitter pointed out, the camera cut to Adele and Celine every time Polanski's film won something -- this wasn't just a standard "but he made the best film!!!1", this was a deliberate "shut up, women" and a middle finger to victims. Truly appalling shit.

edit: oop yeah, someone posted it upthread.

They cut to the Portrait team literally after every lose, not just loses to Polanski. They were deliberately shut out of the awards. Its so gross.

They really awarded that pedophile and they did it in public. Shameful and disgusting. Good on everyone who walked out. I would've done the same.

She never came back on stage after he won best director (there was only best film left and the president of the ceremony, Sandrine Kiberlain, took care of it on her own) and she immediately wrote a huge "écoeuréé" (sickened) on her instagram.

I'm actually confused about why she accepted to host, to be honest.

She probably attended specifically so she could walk out. I really believe Adèle's walkout was planned. That doesn't make her reaction any less genuine but she was able to show her disgust and her anger in a public way. She stole the headlines and the conversation. It's pretty impressive.

I agree about Adèle and I think it was the best thing to do but I'm not so sure about Florence Foresti, she just didn't come back, most people didn't notice, and it's hardly mentioned in the articles talking about this hot mess. She seemed genuinely surprised about Polanski getting the award but I just can't imagine her being that naive (or maybe I'm just way too jaded myself).
