Good on everyone who walked out!
Also, I read Aïssa Maïga called out the industry and Vincent Cassel specifically, who was in the audience, on stage about the roles offered to black actors. Hopefully someone has a better translation, haven't been able to find one beyond broken google translations.

Hahaha I just watched it.

So basically she comes out on stage and says "Here we are a big family" and then starts giving shout outs to the black actors in the audience. And says "Sorry I can't help myself, every time I'm at a big event like this I can't help recognizing all the black actors. Sorry I forgot one. Vincent Cassel. You were the black one in cinema before diversity."

This is in reference to the fact that Cassel (who is white and French cinema dynasty) had his big breakout role in this film about the suburbs of Paris and youth culture when in actuality most people in the Parisian suburbs are poc who have been marginalized and pushed out of the city centre. IDK it's like making a film about Brooklyn starring a white kid.

There's more call outs but that's the Cassel part.

Also it's super awkward NO ONE IS LAUGHING WITH HER.

I think her point Vincent Cassel’s part is pretty fair and not as inflammatory as people are making(?) it out to be.

it’s stuff like this that had me thinking France is even worse with taking rape and sexual harassment seriously but the protesters and all these women in the post walking out has really restored my faith.

she’s so brave for doing this when this is the hostility the establishment has for her.
I’ve been hearing about her movie on ontd for ages and had plans to watch it eventually but now I’m really gonna get my ass in to gear.

I was shocked and horrified when I found out that his daughter is an actress too. He should have been locked up away from society for life.

Yeah she plays Gisla on Vikings. He has a son too.

Yep, that's where I know her from. No doubt she got the job because of her dad, her acting kinda sucks and Michael Hirst seems like the kind of person to be friends with Polanski.

She's my least favorite of the female characters. Wait no, Magrethe's my least favorite. But I hate Gisla's plotline, and I hate that Rollo never got held accountable for raping the rando in the fucking pilot of the show.
