Did the previous season ever pick up, it felt so stale.

I wonder if they'll put in Amy being pregnant this season.

I feared that (mostly bc I hate when shows shoehorn in pregnancy storylines bc of the actress being pregnant) but she looks far along so depending on when they start filming, she'd be giving birth pretty quickly

I'm not necessarily against pregnancy storylines when the actress is pregnant if it makes sense. It definitely didn't during her first pregnancy, but it possibly could with this second pregnancy. But, like you said, when they start filming is a big factor.

I'm still annoyed by Gina's pregnancy. It made no sense at all.

All of my friends struggled/are struggling to get pregnant (we're ~30 years old) and now my husband and I are also struggling.

I see all these celebs (my age and older) and just wonder, was it as easy as it looks or did they have to do fertility treatments?

Also, I just found out infertility stuff is NOT covered at all by my insurance (straight up not even a fucking consult). So that's shitty.

I think that a lot more actresses get fertility treatments than we realize. Like, every time an actress has twins, I just assume that she had IVF.

I sympathize with you on the fertility issues. My husband and I are currently struggling to get pregnant with our first child (we're both 37), and our insurance only covers artificial insemination. We have our first consult for that in January. I'm finding it very difficult to keep my hopes up.

:( Did you already take Clomid and try that and now doing IUI? I have a friend who had IVF covered but not IUI so she did one round of IUI and then it was just too expensive so she went right to IVF instead.

My fingers are crossed for you guys!

Actually, my husband has been taking Clomid to boost his low sperm count. I've had some blood tests and an internal ultrasound, and everything checks out fine on my end. (Though our doctor is still concerned simply based on my age). Hoping that the IUI works for us, because we don't really have any other options. We've been trying naturally for almost a year.

By the way, I realize that it's a bit weird to be talking about this with a stranger on the internet, but very few people in my personal life know what we're going through (pretty much just my mom and my best friend)... so I'm glad for the chance to vent, and the genuine sympathy is also much appreciated. Thank you. :)

I don’t think I’m ready for a pregnant Amy, so hopefully that’s not the direction they take. Although I’m sure they’d make a big show of how they share responsibilities equally. Super excited for another season.

I haaaated it. There are very few B99 plots I've hated, but I hated Jake being pressured into reversing his valid concerns and clear issues with the threat of a breakup over the course of one stupid episode. Amy knows about his family life and she's never been this unreasonable, they've always been written as being able to understand each other and work through it both funnily and logically even when they have different thoughts, but this episode was so off kilter for everyone.

I'm so happy others hated it for the same reasons. Also, am I supposed to accept that AMY of all people would accept that offhand comment from Jake (which turned out to be false anyways) as the only discussion they had about having kids? Before they even got married? It really was a terribly written episode and that is rare for them

Yes. I'd never felt like Amy had been written as only an unfunny taskmaster and Jake as only a perpetual manchild before, they both had funnier and more serious aspects respectively and it made them well rounded, enjoyable characters. This episode just made Amy seem like the grown up tsk tsk-ing at childish Jake over something as important in a marriage as the choice to have kids. Amy would have had a binder full of specific timelines for discussions and possible fruition and Jake would have had the chance to put forth all his misgivings and work through it way before this. This was disappointing and made me not like them as a couple in that episode.
