I do love shopping, but lately I have decreased spending so much in clothes like before. I may or may not have gone to Burberry last weekend and gotten myself a bomb ass jacket there tho

Can’t speak to SJP, but I have become a lot more conscious of consumerism as I matured. In my teens I bought things I wanted without much thought to longevity and sometimes impulsively. Now I am really so abhorrent of the mindless consumption that social media/influencer culture pushes.

I enjoy my clothing, but I really dislike shopping. It’s nice to have pieces you like, but to spend time looking through stores, trying stuff on, spending money is not at all fun.

I feel like with YouTube there’s such a nasty cycle too

Video 1-decluttering my closet
Video 2-filling my closet with this haul!
Video 3-more hauls!
Video 4-decluttering my closet

Rinse and repeat

It’s like they just do it because they need to product content but it’s so mindless and wasteful

The worst are the ones that engage in that cycle and also claim to be sustainable and ethical (looks at Emma hill)

She’s the worst for this. ‘Guys, I am so happy to be working with sustainable brand Everlane (proceeds to get a massive haul shipped from the US to London for no reason at all...)

I like shopping to a degree. But yeah, having money to shop with would be nice.

I only like shopping for certain items like sneakers, JACKETS, and bags.

I’m about to start a job that has a dress code, barf, and I do not want to spend money on that shit. I was going to try some black jeans but I’m scared someone will call me out on it. What kind of pants are there that aren’t jeans but also not Brenda from accounting who shops at LOFT???

Try looking for skinny black chinos maybe?

I’m not sure what stores or sites to look at. Uniqlo pants are too flimsy, Anthro is too weird boho, Banana Republic and J. Crew seem like logical options but I keep seeing pants that are high waisted and my stumpy torso doesn’t comply. It’s really hard to find mid rise, straight leg pants!
