hopefully seeing ad astra this weekend. oh and there's a lgbtq film festival so i'm also seeing knife+heart and portrait of a lady on fire (and hail satan?, which they're also screening for some reason). looking forward to all of them, i have high hopes! i've seen some not that enthused reviews for astra but i legitimately stanned lost city of z so my mind is open.

I love that we're all seeing Portrait of a Lady on Fire one film festival at a time! Sounds like a good lineup.

i like hail satan? i wanted to love knife+heart, but it was so disappointing and boring despite some really great moments.

oh really? agh well i'm seeing it tomorrow so i guess i'll see for myself lol. i'm def intrigued by it being a kind of take on cruising, which is one of the weirdest movies i've seen. i just bought the 4k blu ray and the commentary is so fucking funny. friedkin really hates pacino.

The Wedding Year not on Netflix yet? I watched The Kitchen this week, which was ..mediocre. Maybe I'm just expecting too much, but I can't remember the last time I was completely exhilarated because of a movie.

Yeah, Roma, but I watched that months ago.

same. most movies leave me meh'd, but i am excited by some of the releases from tiff that seem like they'll at least be legitimately memorable if not great.

There's been entertaining films, but nothing mind blowing. I should have a look at what's coming.

i'm excited for jallikattu, the platform, and synchronic and cautiously optimistic for sea fever, guns akimbo, the antenna, and the vigil.
