I may just skip PS4 entirely until this drops. iono iono.

it says it might be backwards compatible with PS4 titles so it's not like we'll miss anything

True but idk if i can wait until late 2020 and PS4’s aren’t too pricey. If they announce another price drop I just might cave in.

I just got a new PC for some games (like Elder Scrolls Online and The Witcher) but I always wanted to own a console. I think PS5 will be my first.

i really hope they fix load times, the ones in the witcher 3 kill me every time. even sth as simple as loading up the map will take awhile.

i'll prob get this after it's released, if the rumours about tlou2 being a launch title for it is true.

also, if this is a general video game post, i wanna say that i've finally started playing the mass effect trilogy. i'm so mad i wasted time on some other games when i could've been playing them. just started me3!!!

Mass Effect is so gooood. They need to release a remastered version for the PS4.

I agree!!
I'm all about remasters right now.

I finished the Borderlands 1 GOTY edition, and it was a blast.
Still had some of the same issues as the original release, but it's such a good game regardless.

It's kind of sad, going from playing the disappointment of Anthem last month.
To a ACTUAL looter-shooter and good game.
So mad at myself for wasting $60, when I could have just saved it on Borderlands.

I refused to buy Anthem because I’m mad at BioWare for abandoning Mass Effect Andromeda which is way better a game than most people give it credit for.

Dragon Age 4 has better be amazing.

I think the last Playstation I used was my dad's PS2, to play Tony Hawk PS3. We're more of a Nintendo family - we had the Wii (great), the Wii U (kind of a flop), and now the Switch (amazing, we <3 it).

I have been thinking about getting either a newer Xbox (we have a 360 that is definitely on its last legs) or Playstation at some point, but this sounds like it might be more than we'd need. Is there a consensus on what's better/has the best games?

I got a Nintendo Switch from my parents and siblings for birthday last year and I loveee it.

Is there a consensus on what's better/has the best games?

Honestly, Sony has the upper hand with games thanks to their first party developers. I’d go with them over XBox. But I am biased so there’s that. At the end of the day, both consoles are similar and have great games each and pretty much the same 3rd party games. But imo, it’s Sony’s exclusives that put them at the top.

I love how flexible and convenient the Switch is! It's all my husband will do when we travel now.

And ty for the advice! I am really out of the loop re: video games, lol. It will be cool to see how much things have changed since the PS2!

Co-signing this entire comment. The only Xbox One exclusives I can think of are all small indie games like Ooblets, or Cuphead. Microsoft burned a lot of their momentum from the 360, which made the Xbox One feel like just... there. But it may be different now... I’ve really fallen away from the scene over the past few years, so unless it’s a AAA title or someone I know tells me to play something, I don’t know about it.
