i don't think they wouldn't have instituted it if it would significantly hurt their traffic. it still doesn't deal with child porn whatsoever or the nazis or the pornbots or the russian trolls. but they got a new interface to commemorate them doing absolutely nothing. it has worked magnificiently to redirect anger

New XKit has an extension for the old blue, and Chrome extensions like Dark Reader that can reduce to contrast on specific web pages are a fucking lifesaver. At some point you'd think tumblr would see the immediate rollout of an extension to revert whatever stupid changes no one asked for that they did, and think "hmm, are we perhaps the ones making bad decisions here?", but nah.

It cracked me up when I got on tumblr on that day, barely had the time to process the change and the very first post on my dash was already the solution to it.
