I rolled into Maumee at about 8:30pm. Its a nice little part of Ohio, and I drive through a lot, seeings how it is basically the corridor to the great I-80/90. But the old-style down town area, where Wayne was playing at a place called the Village Idiot, was very warm and inviting. Reminded me a little of Easttown, with all the brickwork ( Read more... )

As I sit here in my hotel room, in a quiet corner of the Nebraska flatlands, I can feel the seasons change. The wind whips across the prarie, and brings with it a sense of... well honestly, it feels like impending doom. The October God is swinging his sickle, felling corn stalks and raising Cain.

So I just drove through St. Louis. This weekend they are having the largest KKK rally in the U.S., right under that big dumb Arch. Which is really shitty, cuz they black ppl around here seem pretty damn nice to me!?! Can't we all jest get along ( Read more... )

I have been walking around the downtown area on Friday nights. Mainly I go there to wait for my roommate to get out of the bar, and see if she needs a ride home. But the secondary reason is to observe the fine citizens of Grand Rapids and their unique interaction with one another ( Read more... )
