Sherlock and Elementary, same ships

NTlive was re-showing the Cumberbatch/Miller Frankenstein a while ago so I went to see the one with Jonny Lee Miller as The Creature. LOVED it. Wonderful script and amazing acting. I hadn't realised Jonny Lee Miller had such range, really great to watch. Really looking forward to hunting down and watching the alternate version at some point.

Sherlock 3x01 )

telly, plays

Much shipping! Very Femmeslash! So dark threesome!

Loved elementary! This season is killing it I think.

See I usually don't gravitate toward femslash and even I was all Oooo at the very nice painting of Joan. :D :D

I enjoy Elementary more than Sherlock these days, truth be told.

I don't typically either, but the subtext is undeniable.

I'm glad Joan kept her cool around Moriarty, although Lucy made it clear that she was super angry.

That being said, I would like to see Joan have some more emotional moments later this season that don't revolve directly around Sherlock. But now I'm just nit picking, because I really am enjoying the heck out of this season.

I don't watch Sherlock--that version seems like too much of a dickhead, TBH.

I didn't expect to enjoy Sherlock as much as I did, I especially enjoyed the editing and pace of the episode, it was a nice ride.

I haven't started elementary yet. It seems this show has exceeded everyone's expectations from the beginning. is it really good ?

I like the look of Sherlock a lot. Plus mostly I think Mark Gatiss instead of Moffat writes the episodes so I am generally less annoyed by, you know, Moffatness. :D

I think mainly Elementary exceeded expectations because expectations were pretty low at the start. :D I enjoy it, I don't think it's like super awesome on the level of Mad Men or anything, but the acting and characters are very good. It hasn't been super arc-y, mostly procedural of the week type stuff.

I only started watching Sherlock in June so this is my first ~live episode, but it was fun. It felt a bit too whimsical overall, though, I would have preferred more genuine emotion (from Sherlock, we got plenty from John). Hopefully we'll get that in the other two episodes, yay for there being another one today. :D

I did love the restaurant reveal, typical Sherlock to do it that way. Couldn't deal with just going up to him so he had to be all elaborate like that. I have to admit when the episode first started and it looked like what they were showing was how he survived I was wtf-ing all over the place because that was the dumbest theory, lmao. I was so relieved when it was Anderson's fantasy because yeah, that was stupid. XD The kiss with Molly was hot as fuck though, and the scenario with him giggling with Moriarty was the best. I had to pause it when they started staring at each other because I knew what was coming and I was loling too hard. Hawt.

I keep nagging John about getting a winter coat. He refuses to buy a three quarter length one and would prefer Sherlock full coat. Ah now just to get him one....

And we've been loving the new Sherlock. (How did you get on with Coriolanus?)

Now is definitely time for a new coat! Horrible weather.

I've been enjoying Sherlock too, to my mild surprise. It had kinda lost me in s2 but I can enjoy it as Sunday night entertainment.

Coriolanus was quite good. I enjoyed Hiddleston's acting and Etonian uppityness and leather gloves. Came away from it feeling emotionally cold though, can't quite put my finger on it. Might be the art direction (a tad gimmicky IMO), or maybe I just never liked/understood the character motives in the last Act, for which I blame Shakespeare. All in all think I preferred Ralph Fiennes' version.

Interesting. Although I liked Ralph Fiennes version and get the vengeance thing for Coriolanus, I could never understand how his mother moved him to negotiate truce - or cared about what happened to his version of the character. Whereas that felt believable in the Donmar version. I think Tom's tears helped.

I do agree with some of the art direction (specifically the ending with petals and such).
