I just saw a surprisingly awesome Chinese production of Richard III as a part of the Globe 2 Globe festival (all of Shakespeare's plays, each in a different language). The adaptation used a lot of Chinese opera sensibilities and made for wonderful contrast against last year's Sam Mendes/Kevin Spacey production. Very cool. I'm seeing Hip Hop Othello

I gather the Hip Hop Othello has sold out - I'd imagine it'd be one of the easier ones to follow!

I'm going to be seeing a Portugese production, I'm just not sure exactly which plays it covers, whether it's just Richard III, or all the history plays, or what! Should be... interesting!

Looks like Portugese is Romeo & Juliet. :) And yeah, I just checked and Othello is sold out. I'm really looking forward to it!

Ah, I'm not going to the Globe2Globe production, but one of the RSC World Shakespeare productions. It's called Two Roses for Richard III, and has acrobatics and stuff...

I hope Othello is as much fun as it sounds!

Sounds wonderful! Most of our weekends this summer are all taken otherwise we'd try and get down to the Globe to see a production this year. Next year perhaps.
