EeTeuk can see the Future.
He can see that HanKyung will always be kind-hearted and never blame anyone else but himself. He can see that HanKyung will be a good boyfriend and in turn, a good husband. He can see that HanKyung will be lied to many of times, but the only lie that will hurt will be the one that comes from honesty.
Hankyung liked Shiwon from the first time they met. Shiwon was smart and could speak a bit of heavily accented Chinese as well as some English. Everything about the younger impressed Hankyung. His willingness to learn, his determination, kindness, caring. Everything anyone could want in a person, Shiwon had. And just as easily as Hankyung started liking Shiwon did Hankyung fall in love.
It wasn't in Hankyung's personality to think that he could ever be anything more than a friend to Shiwon but when Kim Heechul put his mark on the younger man, Hankyung couldn't help but feel just a bit disappointed at becoming second place.
Not that Hankyung very much minded second place. He'd always been second place and really, he could ignore the silent breaking of his heart and the tears that came unbidden at night. Second place was where Hankyung belonged.
There were little things though. Things that made him think that maybe, just maybe Shiwon liked him the way that he liked Shiwon. The feather brush of fingertips against a cheek and soft playful whispers when Heechul isn't looking. A firm hand on his thigh that made his body react in ways that might have been inappropriate but seemed almost perfect when it involved Shiwon.
And every once in a while, when Hankyung least expects it, he'll see a spark of something that looked like the same thing he saw in his own eyes in the mirror every day. It's years later that he's able to confess, when they're older and life is just a bit more understandable and even more miserable. When Hankyung can't help but say what's on his mind. When he realizes that Heechul doesn't hold Shiwon's heart as tightly as Heechul thought he did.
"I like you." Soft syllables that never lost its accent roll off his tongue when he's cornered Shiwon in Shiwon's room after schedules and a long day of performing and singing. "Please Shiwon, I like you so much it hurts..."
There's a pause and Hankyung wonders if maybe he didn't say it right; if maybe Shiwon thinks this is a joke or hidden camera. But his tears are real as well as the firm words that leave Shiwon's mouth just seconds later. "I'm sorry Hyung. I belong to Heechul."
If Hankyung had bothered to look up before apologizing and running out of the room, knocking into an eavesdropping Heechul, he might have realized how much of a lie Shiwon's words really were.
