So not even two days after finishing the first season...
Literally just finished the second season of The Vampire Diaries. I've decided to post my thoughts verbatim as I wrote them in my notes while watching each episode.

RESPONDING AS I READ:

+ "Cover Up Fabio" You know you like it Damon haha -- YOU KNOW IT.

+ How is snapping neck supernatural? Is it because a Vampire did it? -- Yeah, basically.

+ I too "enjoy" Damon's dark arc this season. "Enjoy" because it's pretty discomfiting and unpleasant, but I "enjoy" that the writers were upfront about it, lol.

+ I kinda disagree about Stefan though? I actually think he's remarkably good about Damon and Elena's friendship for the most part. Damon would wear on the patience of a saint, and Stefan is not a saint. *g*

+ OK, I'm confused, Stephan just said he was 150 years old. But how come in the first season he was celebrating his 162nd birthday with Lexi? -- Heh, I think vampires just tend to round up/down eventually.

+ LOVE YOUR CAROLINE PICSPAM. And IA that Bonnie's attitude to Caroline isn't great, but I kinda think she's projecting her guilt issues a lot there, and that's why she's so harsh.

+ How is it that as Katherine there is chemistry, and as Elena, it kinda fizzles? -- WHAT WE WOULD ALL LIKE ( ... )

+ 'Hero Hairdo?' REALLY? THATS WHAT YOU THINK THAT IS?! -- BWAH! Well, it sticks straight up! Like the wind!

+ JOHN IS MY MAIN MAN, LOL. Yeah, he was a dick most of the time, but he had a great little arc.

+ I too loved that Caroline stood up for herself the way she did with Tyler. I love him and I love them together, but it's just so refreshing to see Caroline get ANGRY when people let her down, you know?

+ Elena and Stefan very much do turn to each other A LOT to provide "escape" from real life. It's one of the defining aspects of their r/ship, from the start, really.

+ HOW CAN YOU NOT LIKE ELIJAH.

+ The Andie/Damon blood-play scene in the bathtub is absolutely hot. So fucking disturbing, but that's kinda to be expected with vampires, lmao.

+ "Breakfast of champions" - Stephan. I guess that's as close as were gonna get on calling Damon on his acoholism -- BWAHA! Pretty much.

+ If Stephan is the vampire with his emotions 'turned on' then why does it seem like his love for Elena isn't nearly as intensified as Damon's. In fact ( ... )

NICE SEEING YOU HERE, DUDE. Excellent thoughts as per usual. How fabulous is it that Anne is joining the ranks? I need all my f-list to surround me while I watch this show.

Ha, I love Stefan's controlling behaviour with Damon in the finale. Such a contrast to his passivity with Elena. When it comes to Damon, there is NOTHING that Stefan won't do.

We are one, etc etc.

- Tyler's hesitation to save Caroline really bugged me from a character growth stand point. Yes he has trust issues, and YES people are lying to him, but to trust people you just met over someone you've known for years was just silly given his trust issues. I'm glad Caroline got mad and told him they weren't friends, it shows she's independent and strong. Of course I already knew that. God I love you Caroline!I agree about C & T here - though I think it's important to point out that from Tyler's viewpoint, the "people he'd known for years" just betrayed him UTTERLY - he just found out that Caroline is 'close' with one of the monsters who murdered his Uncle Mason. That's pretty awful. Like (go with me here), think about if you found out I was a vampire, and that I'd hidden my origins from you. And just previously you learned another vampire I hang out with, let's call him Damien, murdered one of your brothers. Would you need to pause before saving me from all of your brother's trusted friends? Would you question, even for a minute ( ... )

- Stephan, I understand you're worried about your bro, but you're controlling behavior is pissing me off this season!

Heh. This is precisely the moment when my heart exploded into a million fiery Stefans, never to be the same again? This episode is what broke me open with love for Stefan and for the EPIC, SWEEPING ROMANCE that is the Salvatore Brothers. BROTHERS ARE THE REASON. This whole damn show is about how Brothers will love each other forever. Will in fact destroy the world for each other. Everyone else, including Elena, can get in line. The Salvatores are the REASON. I was awestruck by Stefan in this episode. There is no boundary he will not cross for his brother. MY EMOTIONS! MY EMOTIONS!

ELIJAH IS FLAWLESS. FLAW. LESS. RESPECT THE HAIR FORCE THAT IS ELIJAH. *straightens tie*

as I mentioned to Alex, it was just an observation while watching an episode. MY FELLING HAVE CHANGED AND I LIKE HIM. A LOT. BUT I WILL NEVER RESPECT THE HAIR! LOL

I ship Elena/Normal Human Life much harder than with either of her vampires.

ME TOO! And I agree that it's hard to ship her with either of them without shipping her with both of them.

- John Gilbert is fantastic. I love him. I have issues with the execution of the adoption story-arc, and his role in it, but aside from that? Man is GOLDEN. He hunted monsters and tried to protect his nephew and his baby girl from them. He did the right thing. He knew he failed her (even though he didn't - Elena's consistent disgust with his actions only proves to me what an unreliable narrator she is in her own life.). He gave up his life to save her. That's a pretty excellent father. I WEPT when he died.I have grown to appreciate his character after this season, but I still had problems with his ( ... )

Hi doll! I don't have time for proper commentage right now (I'm running out the door as soon... as I'm no longer half-naked... yeah), but I'm sooooo happy that you're nearly caught up and I can't wait for your thoughts on season 3!
