So not even two days after finishing the first season...
Literally just finished the second season of The Vampire Diaries. I've decided to post my thoughts verbatim as I wrote them in my notes while watching each episode.




01. The Return

• ooh Katherine, you sassy biatch
• Who is Mason Lockwood?
• Liz should be more worried about Caroline being in the hospitol than she seems to be
• Liking the fighty vibes between Damon and Stephan, but not so much the jealous Stephan part
• WTF Stephan! Not that I like John, but c'mon!
• Damon + Bonnie? = *chin scratch* interesting...
• "Cover Up Fabio" You know you like it Damon haha
• Poor Tyler :(
• "It was always Stephan" Damon can't catch a break with the lies he's been told over the years.
• You just killed Jeremy!! 
• Thank goodness for mystical rings!
• How is snapping neck supernatural? Is it because a Vampire did it?

Damon is starting off this season with a pretty dark arc. I'm kinda enjoying it. I'm also surprised at how much I don't like Stephan's attitude at the start of this season. I understand the jealousy to an extent, but Damon is the one with the trust issues, and Stephan already has the girl, so why the need to be so controlling?

02. Brave New World

• Caroline? Vampire?
• "Aren't you worried that one day all the forest animals are gonna band together and fight back? I mean, they must talk" LOL
• OK, I'm confused, Stephan just said he was 150 years old. But how come in the first season he was celebrating his 162nd birthday with Lexi?
• Caroline! I love you! You deserve to give the smackdown
• Stephan & Caroline? oh the chemistry!

Caroline as a Vampire is kick ass, she's my darling for sure! Bonnie's prejudice over vampires while understanding is getting a tad weird to me, because it seems like all vampires have witches as allies, and are basically in control of the balance in the first place, so her hatred toward Caroline this episode bugged me. 



03. Bad Moon Rising

• Alaric! Yay! Your face is back! But what happened to your hair man?
• "Coffee? Bourbon? Bourbon in your Coffee?" has no one addressed that Damon has a drinking problem yet? and not the bloody lust type?
• Caroline/Stephan are hitting all the right shippy buttons with me right now
• Ric/Jenna are my loves!

I am so happy to see team Dalaric back on my screen. Awesome duo is still awesome! I'm so happy they gave more screen time to Caroline, even though they turned her into a vampire to do it. She is EPIC

04. Memory Lane

• Katherine, stop breaking my heart, I hate you. 
• OK, didn't Caroline just get done admitting to blood lust and Elena is ready to leave her in her house, with her family in it? Priority Check. Get One
• Stop trying to leave Caroline by herself people!!
• Damon!! You tell Katherine!

What happened to Stephan and Elena's chemistry? For some reason I really wasn't feeling it this episode. In fact, I was kinda digging the whole Katherine/Stephan aspect. Which is strange because ELENA AND KATHERINE ARE PLAYED BY THE SAME ACTRESS!! How is it that as Katherine there is chemistry, and as Elena, it kinda fizzles?

05. Kill or be Killed

• I hope Alaric takes Jeremy under his wings and they become a bad ass fighting team!
• one day helping Caroline adjust and then everyone just abandons her?
• Stephan, your need to protect your brother warms my heart.
• Liz!!!%$#%@%$!
• CALLING IT! Caroline will apologize for betraying Stephan and Elena by showing her mother she's a vampire while saving people.
• CALLED IT
• ugh! Liz! Your prejudices are almost as bad as Johns!
• oh goodness, not another blood lust plot line
• Elena, freely giving blood to a vampire that OBVIOUSLY has issues is probably not that smart a move
• Katherine & Mason eh? How many people love this girl?

06. Plan B

• Did Stephan really just call Elena "Creepy"?! Your stalked her before bro
• Nina gets to make out with everyone
• Damon + Jeremy = Badass
• Bonnie! I've missed you!
• Damon nick naming Bonnie 'Judgy' is my favorite thing
• See how it feels to be left in the dark about something Elena?
• Please don't be betraying Caroline Liz
• No Jenna! Don't Die!
• Jeremy, you are getting HOT!

Once again, another episode that Caroline stole my heart. Katherine's obsession with Matt's looks makes me laugh.

07. Masquerade 

• I love Katherine's obsession with Matt, her reactions to his appearance where similar to my first reactions to his dreaminess.
• Elena just needs to drop it and trust people
• Jeremy + Bonnie? I likey
• Who is Lucy? 
• I Like Lucy.. :)

I loved everyone coming together to try and kill Katherine, but I wasn't liking the fact that Elena couldn't go ONE TIME where she as out of the loop, especially when it's usually her decision the leave everyone she cares about out of the loop. And Caroline acting all timid and scared as part of the ploy had me jumping for joy. This is starting to become an ode to Caroline. And it probably won't ever stop.

08. Rose

• Trevor? Elijah? Rose? Klous?
• Trevor is dead, must remember to do a second season body count. This show likes to kill people
• I thought Jeremy and Elena weren't blood related, so how would Bonnie be able to track her with Jeremy's blood?
• oh yeah, I guess they're technically cousins.
• Liking the Tyler/Caroline dynamic
• Jeremy/Bonnie are so effing cute
• Poor Damon :( Why you gotta pull at my heart strings like that?
• Elijah is back! dun dun dun!!!
• Where is my Alaric?!

This was probably the turning point for me as far as my feelings for Damon's character goes and how I feel about Stephan as well.

09. Katerina

• Luca? Slater? Jonas? 
• I'm loving Katherines back story
• Stephans need to protect something and his obvious jealousy towards Damon is getting annoying.
• CALLING IT: Rose and Damon will become close and they will kill off Rose. I like her, so it's obvious they will kill her.
• CALLED 1/5 OF IT! Jeesh that was quick!

The timing on the musical parts are starting to get really effective this episode. I hate that I love Katherine when she's so selfish this episode. But her back story is breaking my heart.

10. The Sacrifice

• Alaric! "Chunky Monkey?" "Well, I'm naked, so I'm gonna go" hahaha awkward!
• Why hasn't Bonnie told anyone about Luca?
• Jeremy! You are a badass for sure, but stop doing things like that! This show likes to kill people I like!
• Tyler/Caroline! <3

11. By the Light of the Moon

• Caroline claimed Tyler duty!!
• Jules, of course she's a villian
• hahahaha! Damon/Alaric never stop making me happy!! 
• Why don't they just tell Jenna the truth so she'll stop invinting all the evil vampires into their home?!
• Elijah, I don't like you, stop trying to be a good guy.
• I still don't like Luca
• AWWW! Alaric showing concern for Damon getting bit!
• Please don't kill Rose!!

Caroline and Tyler are absolutely amazing and once again, Caroline is my darling. I will NEVER get tired of team DALARIC!

12. The Descent

• Why did Jules kill the cop? She was about to get away with it, and in a town like mystic falls, she would have for sure.
• Elena, quick tip, when running from vampires in your house, if you reach a sunlit spot and they back away, STAY IN THE SUN! why do you keep running out of safety?
• Tyler/Caroline, once again you are on my list for being AWESOME
• Dammit! Rose/Damon were so good! Why you gotta be like this show!
• GOD DAMMIT! WHY DID I CALL THAT ROSE WOULD DIE!? I hate you show!

Damon's story arch killed me this season. I hated what he was doing but I felt his pain none the less. His struggle is really intriguing me. 
And of course they gotta remove any sort of happiness he may find.

13. Daddy Issues

• uh oh, Tyler knows
• 'Hero Hairdo?' REALLY? THATS WHAT YOU THINK THAT IS?!
• GO SAVE CAROLINE TYLER!!
• Dammit John! stop being kinda nice and making me feel sorry for you when it turns out you're still a lying ass hole!

Tyler's hesitation to save Caroline really bugged me from a character growth stand point. Yes he has trust issues, and YES people are lying to him, but to trust people you just met over someone you've known for years was just silly given his trust issues. I'm glad Caroline got mad and told him they weren't friends, it shows she's independent and strong. Of course I already knew that. God I love you Caroline! lol

14. Crying Wolf

• "Action News" lol
• Tyler, you better be playing these people
• "Witch Rufie" haha Jeremy!
• Alaric, being all hot and threatening John, you f**ing tell that fool!
• Tyler! Dont' leave!

It seems to me that Elena and Stephan take a lot of "breaks" from the drama. I mean, granted there's a lot of drama, but still.

15. The Dinner Party

• "I only pursue younger women...It's a joke Saltzman, lighten up" dammit, stop being funny Elijah, I still don't like you
• "the doppleganger, the moonstone, the lion, the witch, and the wardrobe" hahaha Damon, your snark keeps getting better and better.
• Alaric/Damon, you know I love you guys!
• KILL JOHN ALARIC! I HATE HIM!

I know it's probably wrong, but Damon and the Reporter were kinda hot together. And finally! Elena with an awesome plan! Getting some of your awesome self back with that!

16. The House Guest

• They better not kill Alaric now that he doesn't have the ring
• They should tell Jenna already! She's gonna get herself killed inviting all these vampires in!
• Luka = Dead
• Matt/Caroline, stop being cute! 
• TELL JENNA!!

Katherine got her sass back. I can't help but like it.

17. Know Thy Enemy

• I hate you John!
• I will never forgive you for this Matt!
• Why you acting strange Stephan? 
• NOT ALARIC!! 
• I HATE THIS SHOW!!

I didn't feel an ounce of sympathy for Isobel, I'm not sure if that makes me a horrible person or not. Tyler assuming Caroline killed Vickie made me hate him.

18. The Last Dance

• Don't hurt my Alaric!!
• LIZ! WTF! That's your daughter!
• Alaric/Klaus, stop acting creepy, you're really good at it!
• please tell me they did not just kill Bonnie for reals
• OH thank goodness!

The way the writing of this episode was able to deceive me was surprising. I cried like a baby thinking Bonnie was dead.

19. Klaus

• "I think the term you're searching for is, O.M.G." hahahahaha! Elijah, you're delivery kills me
• Thank you for finally telling Jenna show! It's about time!
• Please be ok Alaric!!

I really enjoyed Elijah's back story, and as I wrote earlier in my notes, is there ANYONE that hasn't been in love with Katherine on this show?!

20. The Last Day

• "Breakfast of champions" - Stephan. I guess that's as close as were gonna get on calling Damon on his acoholism
• Please don't kill Jenna...
• Too little too late Matt.
• "I'll never be able to watch Bambi again" oh Elena!
• JENNA!

Extended Thoughts not Written Down:
Once again, dark things from Damon, but for me, this is where my perception on the brothers changed. While the previous season made us think that Stephan was the 'good' brother, we've now seen Stephan showing selfishness to rival Katherine's. And all of Stephan's talk about everything being intensified as a vampire made me wonder; If Stephan is the vampire with his emotions 'turned on' then why does it seem like his love for Elena isn't nearly as intensified as Damon's. In fact, whenever shit happens that puts Elena in danger in any way, Damon proves time and time again that he's the 'planner'. He'll do whatever it takes to keep Elena safe, even if it puts him in a position to NEVER have his feelings returned. Where as Stephan usually takes her somewhere and makes googly eyes at her. I mean, he talks a good game about keeping her safe, and he's pretty controlling, but as far as actually going through with things that would do it, Damon's the one that steps up.

21. The Sun Also Rises

• Stephan finally comes up with a plan eh?
• Matt, I don't care if you played hero, I will never forgive you
• WTF SHOW! I told you not to kill Jenna!! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU SHOW! 
• John! I hate you! I'm glad you're dead! Stop making me cry!

Extended Thoughts not Written Down:
Once again, this show likes to kill off everyone I like. They've oficially obliterated Elena and Jeremy's entire family in 2 seasons. How the hell are these kids still alive and not paralyzed with depression?

22. As I Lay Dying

• "Take all the time you need" Damon! 
• 'Turn to Stone' by Ingrid Michaelson! I love it! But I don't like Damon trying to kill himself! Do Not Like Show!
• Stephan, I understand you're worried about your bro, but you're controlling behavior is pissing me off this season!
• oh no! Alaric really did become the town drunk! 
• But he still loves Damon... <3
• "Neither one of us is drunk enough for this conversation" poor fellas
• Liz! THIS IS YOUR DAUGHTER, STOP BEING A BITCH
• NOT Jeremy too!!
• Awww! Daddy!Alaric to Jeremy!
• Elena, you do love them both. 
• I get the feeling Stephan wants to be evil
• Vicki? Anna? 

Extended Thoughts not Written Down:
The season finale didn't disappoint. It hit all my buttons. The Damon/Stephan brotherly love thing really hit me. the Damon/Katherine/Elena part really had me tearing up. I was so worried about Jeremy and so relieved Bonnie didn't have him taken away from her.
