Phil drives me to the train station so I can catch the TranzAlpine at 8.15am.
Christchurch to Greymouth.
One hour in Greymouth. Then back again.
Best bit was the section to Arthur's Pass - gorges, viaducts, snowy mountains.
Back after dark. Phil's there to take me home.
Evening in front of the fire and the TV. Nice.

Sleep late, again. (Alex sleeps later.)
Set up an LJ account with Tania. Walk to New Brighton beach - very pleasant.
Tania drops me off at Phil's when she and Alex have to go to work.
Muck around there for the rest of the afternoon.
Go to the 'prize-giving'(! hee hee !) at CoCA, then grocery shopping, then home and watch TV.

Tania and Alex are both sick with colds. We all sleep late ( Read more... )

Tania comes around to Phil and Rebecca's in the morning.
We all go off to Riccarton markets.
Lunch and chatting back at Phil's. Then they come with Tania and I to see her house.
Dinner and night at Tania and Alex's.

Arrived in Christchurch of the afternoon - had flown down.
Collected at the airport by Phil and Rebecca, staying at their house tonight.
Dinner at the Dux de Lux, then to the Casino to fill in some time before a movie at Rialto (Grizzly Man).

Another day to catch up on things around Wellington. I get up just before 9.00am, miss breakfast. Buy chocolate breakfast and Dominion Post at a service station before meeting Glîrien and Vanya at the Massey Uni Viggo exhibit. Samantha is on the front page of the paper!

We drive to Picton via Queen Charlotte Sound Route to catch the ferry across Cook Strait to Wellington. Route is windier than I had expected, pretty hard going and Glîr’s driving just about gives me conniptions, but we arrive in good time.
