My prayers go out to the families of those who perished in the Air Angels helicopter crash in Aurora earlier today.

I am leaving in an hour for Germany along with three of my cohorts. I will be gone for two weeks. Wish me luck.

After working 12 days straight (working 15 shifts), I finally have a few days off. I have no internet at my apartment, and I am moving out in one week. It looks like I will be moving back with my folks for a three months. Once I get back from my vacation in Sept. and Oct., I should ideally be off probation. A Chicago Police Officer was killed earlier this morning. Details haven't been released fully but apparently he got into a struggle with a female and she got his gun away. I had to chase a crazy person from the ER and almost got hit by a helicopter blade as it was on the helipad. I was in a foot pursuit with the involuntary committal patient when she got about 20 feet away from the rear helicopter blades. I had to pull her away and then tackle her. Jumping over fences while running at full speed holding a pistol in your hand isn't as easy as it sounds. I want to see that in the Olympics sometime soon.

I think I may have broken a bone in my hand or wrist. It hurts to rotate and flex my wrist, and putting pressure on my hand causes tremendous pain. There doesn't appear to be any swelling, so hopefully it is just something minor.

You have to be sober to fly a helicopter, it's not like driving a car.

I spent my Saturday dealing with out of control people who were trying to kill themselves or others for a variety of reasons. It started with a mother and her 14 year old daughter getting into physical fight, and it happened to be mom's birthday.
