Why zero mention of Katherine? Cynical reasons only pertaining to Stefan/Elena. It's the only logical explanation! If he started from the start with the journals, then there's no way Katherine doesn't rate a mention.

With the TVD funeral fetish in full swing, I was fast forwarding at the end and then, BAM, suddenly there was an extra person there and I was all, OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG *FLAIL* STOP, REWIND, WATCH, STOP, REWIND, WATCH, STOP, REWIND, YOU GET THE PICTURE.

And I think modern society values women for working more than for raising children. I really think this varies. From personal experience, girls in my high-school/college friendship group who are now raising children are treated FAR MORE "omg, wow, you are awesome" than those who aren't (by pretty much everyone, including each other, and people the generation ahead of ours). The ones who haven't been (and, for the most part, have no intention of being) mothers are typically looked down upon as selfish, or pitied (as ( ... )

If he started from the start with the journals, then there's no way Katherine doesn't rate a mention. But it's implied he had, when he's talking with Damon in the car, right? Like maybe they are saving it for when they meet, but for me it was a big plothole. Although it could very well be part of the Stefan/Elena game, haha. The more GIFsets I see of Elena's delight in amnesia!Stefan, the more I think this is the implication. LOL

Really- it's so nonsensical that he would rather take Damon and Elena's word for what is going on than trusting HIS OWN. Like I would get turning to them to clarify details, but GIMME A BREAK.
