Isabel opened a bottle of water carefully. Alien-fu or not, she really didn't want to get anything on her dress. "Well overall I'd say it's been a fun visit."

"Thank you. Angel has excellent taste," she smiled. "It'll be nice to get back. I miss Annie, as well as others that really don't need to be named."

"No, they don't," Parker said, grinning a little. "Although this is a lot of fun. Last year ended up in such a spectacular round of hangovers, though, I don't think I'll be drinking much."

Isabel looked at her bottle of water and shrugged. "Somehow, I don't think I'm going to have that problem. Or the possible related problem of waking up in the wrong bed or with the wrong person going oh em gee double u tee eff."

"Heh." Parker looked wistful. "Jack, last time. Not that he remembers it. Which was far from wrong, even if he wasn't Mr. Right." Parker looked around the room, and raised an eyebrow. "And so many people here are paired off, they have no excuse for not ending up where they're supposed to be."

"Nope, nothing wrong with it if it was what you both wanted at the time." Snickering, Isabel looked around the room. "Yes, and changes in sleeping partners in this crowd would probably be a bad, bad thing."

Parker shuddered at the amount of literal and emotional carnage that could result. "Right. Exactly. So, this won't be a soap opera New Year's Eve. For which I say Happy New Year."

"Several," Parker said, then paused. "Wait. Already thin enough. Already rich enough. Already quit smoking. Work out every week; get good grades.... I should be kinder to my fellow man." Parker looked around. "Of whom I see none to demonstrate on at the moment. Damn."

Parker considered that implication, grinned, then snickered. "He'd have a heart attack. I don't think that'd be very kind of me, would it?"

Parker just grinned wickedly at that second innuendo, and batted her eyelashes at Isabel, letting her figure it out herself.
