Lucius had heard very little news, even from his most reliable sources, about what the other members of Voldemort's inner circle were up to. That worried him greatly. It meant that either he was being deliberately and completely left if in the dark, or that they were all doing exactly what they seemed to be, which was nothing at all - struggling to maintain their current positions and waiting to be attacked. Surely they'd seized power for a greater goal than that.

In either case, he needed more information and he needed to secure some potential allies. Dolohov would be an ideal choice; he was a strong wizard and the current favorite. Most of all he could be trusted completely to always put himself first.

Lucius greeted the other man cordially. "Ah, Antonin, thank you for coming. I'm so glad you could make it. You've had quite an exciting few weeks from what I hear."

"It has been a bit, true." Antonin said.

He was still more than a bit suspicious of this meeting, even as he smiled thinly. The memory of having Order members run from him in fear hadn't dimmed in the slightest, even weeks after the event. He wasn't quite ready to let go of the glorious feeling of victory quite yet.

"But I am always willing to make time for things that interest me."

"Then I shall endeavor to be as interesting as possible."

Lucius took a seat at the table which had been set for two. He gestured for Dolohov to do the same.

"I did want to congratulate you on your victory at Azkaban. Bellatrix has certainly tried her hardest to claim all the credit, but it's clear to anyone in the know that you were the one responsible."

Antonin took the seat he'd been offered, a slight smirk on his face at the mention of Bellatrix. "Thank you. The only credit Bellatrix deserves is in killing a few prisoners to save her hide."

"Indeed. I've no doubt she would do just about anything to avoid disfavour," Lucius sneered. "She is so emotionally invested in the cause." He shook his head, clearly disapproving of such sentimentality. "One only wonders what she will do next."
