Antonin had been more than just a bit suspicious when he'd received an owl from Lucius, of all people, requesting his presence at Malfoy Manor to be congratulated for killing Alastor Moody almost a month ago over lunch.
Most of his suspicion, of course, was in his nature, and while all Death Eaters served a common goal under the leadership of Voldemort, they weren't above throwing each other into the line of fire to keep their own arse unharmed. Antonin was definitely no different - in fact, he was more likely to do so and not think twice of it more than any other, but that didn't lessen his suspicions. He knew what he'd do if he found out someone else had done something great in the eyes of Voldemort, after all.
However suspicious, he was also curious, and curiosity was what led him to be waiting impatiently in Malfoy Manor for Lucius to deem it time to show himself.
