[Action at 1664 Nelson Street, closed to Sion]

[Naze is inspecting the package that arrived from the post office, return address from the mayor. She's suspicious, of course. Eventually though, she decides to open it at the kitchen table.

It's a knife. A very familiar knife.]

Well, now isn't that interesting?

[She reaches to pick it up... and as ( Read more... )

[Ah, a familiar voice. She remembers meeting Naze once from a while back, but never more than that. They were "friends" now regardless and that's all the reason she needed to offer her two cents regardless however it may help.]

You got something of yours back.

Indeed I have. Suffice to say, I won't be needing the paper bag anymore.

[She's just going to wrap up in bandages instead]

[Why was she wearing her paper bag in the first place? Ah, right, because she didn't have any wounds. Not too many people could forget that reason.]

Ahah!

Congratulations, your old scars returned.

[Even with her old wound back, it's not like she's horrible scarred... hence the need to keep hiding]

More or less. It was not quite the same as waking up with them gone.

I think that's become a standard, yes.

I'd heard we could get things back. I just didn't expect them to appear on the doorstep in a brown paper parcel.

[She also didn't expect to be mailed a head-wound]

They say you learn something new every day.

I've always heard "no day is wasted if you learn something new". Since I'm sure there's plenty of people who don't learn something new every day.

You seem excited to say that. Well, considering what can be received, I guess it could be a good thing.

They can be.

I just spent the last hour cleaning up my blood off the kitchen floor.

Yeah, things like that kinda happen here. Guns...old work uniforms...doesn't matter, you'll still get 'em sooner or later.

It seems more intangible gifts can be delivered as well.

If you don't mind me askin', what did you get? Because I was kinda under the impression that all you could get back was your belongin's. Like they decide to raided your home 'n started sendin' you your things.

No, I've been told you can regain basically anything they've taken from you. For instance, aliens who had a different body, or people who had superpowers.

I got back a knife and the wound it caused.

I'm pretty sure almost everyone got one of those.. They usually send them out after something big happens here. Maybe it's their sick idea of trying to make things up to us.

Does that mean you got one as well, Aino-san?

It could be a mockery of that, yes, or something to keep us from completely breaking under the stress of these events.

Ah, yeah, I got a package too. I can't say I would particularly complain over getting anything from home back, but with their questionable motives..

Besides, there's another option as to why they would do it. Perhaps they would enjoy seeing us killing each other even more if people had their special powers and weapons with them to make it more interesting.

True enough, though they could just give us those from the start if they wanted. I suppose people are more likely to appreciate or go wild with them if they're deprived of them for a period before being given them back though.
