Sometime after the celebration for all of the new students, Gwynn managed to find her assigned room. She had stared at the door in consternation for a long time before she remembered the keys they had handed her when they gave her her paperwork first thing

She heard her roomate moving around behind hte door. Seras swallowed a little neverously. She hadn't had a roomed with someone in ages. Let alone some one from...1199, if what Walter told her had been correct
Seras mustered her courage, opened the door, and poked her head in.
"Er...hello," she said to the other girl, "Gwyn Hood...of Locksley, yes?"

"I'm Gwynn," she said with a bit of a nervous smile as she frantically tried to get the hanger detatched from her hair. "Are you... Seras?"
Gwynn really hoped she had gotten the name right as she finally got the barbaric item out of her hair and thrown on the floor. Then she looked at the new arrival and smiled in embarrassment.
"They don't have things like that at home," she said, trying for a casual tone. "I don't even know what it is, just that it has a fondness for hair, so you might want to be careful."

"Yes, that's right."
She looked about the room and noted that Gwynn seemed to have claimed the bed next to the window. Which was fine by her. First come, first served, and all that.
Seras made her way over to the other bed and flopped down upon it, dropping her duffle bag onto the floor.
"That," she said, pointing to the hanger that Gwynn had dropped onto the floor, "Is a clothes hanger. You use it to um...hang your clothes up in the closet."
Seras eyed her own bag and decided that she'd unpack tomorrow.
She bit her lower lip and looked over at Gwynn. The other girl seemed nice enough, but Seras was out of practise and absolutely rubbish at making small talk.
"So...um...what do you think of Fandom, so far?" she finally asked.

"I'm not too good at talking to someone I don't know, either," she said, extending her hand like Walter and Peter had for her. "I'm Gwynn Hood and it's nice to meet someone else who is new here."
She looked at the floor in embarrassment. "What do I think of Fandom so far? Can I be completely honest?"

She explained as best she could about the setting up of voice mail: recording your message, setting up your password, etc.
"Do you think you've got it?" she asked.
[ooc: Thanks for moving the thread. *was just considering doing the same thing*]

"I believe so. Thank you for taking the time to help me do this."
She picked up the phone and went through the steps Seras had just shown her.
"You've reached Gwynn Hood in room #410. I am not near this device to speak to you, so please be kind enough to leave a voicemail in this device and I will contact you as soon as I am able. Thank you."
She hung up the phone and looked at Seras. "Like that?"
[[OOC: Normally I would have done this sooner, but I've been replying through Gmail and didn't realize it was like that. Moving it for better reading at any time is fine by me. :) ]]

'Yes, that shoudl do the trick,' she said.
Then she grinned.
"Though, there's only one way to find out for certain."
Seras crossed back to her side of the room and left Gwynn a message.

Shr tilted her head. "What brings you to this place, Seras?"

Robin...Hood.
Right, well, that was par for course, really. Trying her best to adapt to her new home, she shrugged it off and answered Gwynn's question.
"I came to learn to be a police officer," she replied, pausing. She was fairly certain that there hadn't been police forces in 1199..."That's a person who serves and protects the civilians in a city."

"You are wanting to be a sheriff to protect your people?"
Reply
"Something like that. You don't really 'have people' where I come from. So, it's more like protecting your neighbors or your fellow citizens."
