This morning started bright and early when my dear husband woke me with the information that his midsection hurt. Having heard this tune before, I correctly predicted a trip to the local ER in our immediate future. ( Medical drama then ensued )

Yesterday I came home and the temp in the house was 74 with the A/C set to 72. Today it was over 84 when we came home. The A/C is officially Not Working and The Guy can't come until Monday afternoon. I came home today after work and the thermostat informed me that it's 88 degrees (Fahrenheit) in the house. I have opened all the openables and am currently sitting in the basement in front of a humongous fan set on Jet Engine in front of an open window wearing shorts and wishing the laptop wasn't. As promised, new pictures of the house complete with bamboo floor. We're still recovering from the install of same, so some things are more out-of-place than others. However, since The Cleaning Elf (tm) made a thorough tour through the joint today I thought I'd better get some pictures taken.

The books are now back from exile in the basement and on the shelves thanks to bridgit, dptwisted, mister_miller_ and Thing 2. We even have enough room on all the shelves not to have books lying on top of other books. You know what this means, right?

Right. We need more books. :-)

I came home to find the locusts had removed all the tools and put most of the furniture back into at least plausible positions. Once Saint Madelein and her henchwoman acolyte have a chance to wreak untold havoc clean up the joint I might be able to take a few pictures to show off the new flooring. It's done! The bamboo flooring is laid! The Handyman Deluxe laid the last piece of T-molding in the front room this afternoon to much rejoicing from Yours Truly. Drachenschloss now has an oddly Scandinavian-looking front room, with all that blond wood. I'll get some pictures taken and post them eventually. My computer HD was not replaced. I was talked through restoring the original image and have to reinstall everything. Joy. The Midnight Shrubber has been found! Apparently, one of The Handyman Deluxe's helpers to get the carpet up (Jose, the maintenance guy at his apartment building who was moonlighting) accidentally broke a piece off of one of the yew bushes out front.
